Porch Light Philosophy
As a neighborhood, we keep our porch lights on at night until the morning. Porch lights are a sign of safety and community. Doing so illuminates the block and helps keep each other safe. Crime tends to decline in neighborhoods that are well lit. Keeping your porch light on at night makes the street feel more welcome (and safer) to residents who are out for a walk at night.
The only time to turn off your porch light is when you’ve run out of candy on Halloween!
