Our Homes Association schedules 90 hours per month of patrol service. We employ with off-duty Kansas City Police Department (KCPD). Officers are in marked cars and patrol our residential streets when most of us are asleep or at work.
Don’t be surprised if an officer knocks on your door to let you know that your garage is open.
Officers consistently tell residents to be harder targets. This means keeping shrubs trimmed and cleared away from windows, installing motion-detector lights, closing garage doors, using timer lights, and turning on your porch light at night. If you ever suspect something is odd with what you see, out of place, or see an unfamiliar vehicle making frequent passes in the neighborhood, please do not hesitate to call “911” and report.
