Know a person who has gone above and beyond to help his or her neighbors? Please consider nominating that individual for a Good Neighbor Award! The City’s Good Neighbor Award will

be presented at this year’s National Night Out Against Crime celebration, scheduled for Tues- day, Aug. 7 in Swope Park.

A good neighbor might be the person who mows the lawn for an ill or elderly person. He or she may volunteer to watch children, plan neighbor- hood cleanups or organize block parties. The good work possibilities are endless and as unique as the residents who live in the area. The City wants to recognize residents, from youth to senior citizens and anyone in between, who make the community friendlier and safer places to live.

Good neighbors must reside in the City of Kansas City, Mo., and must not have received compensa- tion for their good deeds. The nomination must recognize the good neighbor for actions that have occurred in the neighborhood since August 2011.

Good neighbors can be nominated for small or large acts of kindness; however, the individual nominating must believe that the person went above and beyond.

For those nominating, please provide the follow- ing information:

1. Your name, email address and phone number 2. The nominee’s name and contact information

3. Reason for the recognition and date(s) if ap- plicable. In 100 words or less, please explain and describe why this person (the nominee) deserves to be recognized by the City of Kansas City, Mo.

Residents may send their nominations to: ncs@kcmo.org or actioncenter@kcmo.org or fax (816) 513-3201 with the subject line of “Good Neighbor Award.” Residents may also call 3-1-1 or (816) 513-1313. The deadline to nominate a good neighbor is Friday, July 6.
